Today I rediscovered my blog page and saved it for future writing. I have always enjoyed writing, it's a good healing process to use.

On Nov 7th, I attended the ladies group at my church called Speak Love. Let me back up a little. My friend Fran has a husband named Ken. Ken is showing a lot of signs of Dementia though he has not yet been diagnosed. Several of his family members have been diagnosed with one form or another of this horrid disease. My mother-in-law June lost her battle with it several years ago. 

Fran and I talk almost everyday and I have learned a lot about what a family member lives with while living with someone who is losing the battle with health. God had been prompting me to be a 'listener' for people, be a helper, for a few weeks so my heart was being prepared for what He is doing.

Back to the ladies meeting. After it ended I approached Pastor LaCinda and asked her is she knew of any support groups in our area for Alzheimers. Her answer was "no I don't but you could check with the retirement homes or places like that". Her next comment was the clincher for me a she stated "why don't you start one?" I knew in my heart the moment she said those words that God was directing me to do this. She offered for the church to help how it could, maybe even meet there for room as needed.

Since that day it seems like people are coming out of the woodwork who have had some issue with this in their lives! My neighbor gifted me with an outdoor decoration that has the word FAITH painted on it. When I went to her home to thank her,I found out that she worked with the elderly and spoke at meetings on dementia for several years and volunteered to help me and even speak if I needed her to.

So, I'm studying about it, reading different books to gain knowledge, talking to people, and making decisions for how to get started. I think the first few meetings will be in my home and as it grows we can stretch out to other places.  

I believe with all my heart that God is arranging it all. I believe He will lead to these gatherings all those He wants to touch with His love, because this will be a faith based organization. He will be honored and not hidden. Maybe that's why I'm having difficulty reaching the Alz. Assoc. in AZ. trying to get recognized and get assistance. Maybe God cannot be discussed in organized meetings. Maybe I just need to keep it attached to my church and home. People meeting to love other people through their trials.  Maybe.....

 26 April 2025  I'm still standing in my faith that God is working miracles on my behalf. The house on 33rd Lane has had several open houses, and has been seen, but not by many people. It has been on the market for close to a year in a neighborhood that is sought after, and still it waits to be owned by me and God, or maybe I should say God and me. I've been keeping my eyes open for other homes that call to me, but there's always something wrong with them and they just don't fill my wants. I don't know how God is working things out, but I KNOW that He hasn't forgotten me. His timing isn't mine, His way of thinking isn't like mine.  I'm still cleaning out things that I don't need, rearranging things on my shelves so I can see more things that should be moved out. I sold June's sewing machine that I've kept since she passed. I sold it to a young lady, maybe late 20's, who seemed so excited to be getting it to start learning how to quilt...

 27 October 2025 Well, October is almost gone and soon it will be Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then another new year will be birthed.  Year 8 since Steve's been gone is almost completed. It ends April 16th, 2026. I have waited, prayed, expected in faith for the new beginnings that the Lord spoke to me about in 2025, but so far each attempt to step out into where I thought He was leading me has not produced a change in circumstances. I packed my entire house except for enough to daily live with and put my home on the market. When a place to move to didn't work out, I took it off the market, and unpacked every box. After unpacking I had 9 boxes and 2 bags of stuff to give away along with some furniture. It seemed like the whole process was a lesson in slimming down. Cheryl is still in Idaho in the same house, and I'm still here waiting to see what God has in mind.
